Dr. Sorrell tells Lee about the first time he wanted to be a college president and the series of events leading up to his decision, 14 years ago, to lead an institution in need. Dr. Sorrell discusses his family and what he learned from different role models in his life.

Lee and Dr. Sorrell touch on some systemic problems in society that affect HBCUs, and finish up by talking about the future and what comes next. At the end of the episode, we learn something unexpected about Dr. Sorrell that may surprise our listeners.
